Mill Creek California
Mill Creek
Mill Creek is a small community of cabins in the Cascade mountains in northern California at about 5000 feet elevation. We are located just off of Highway 36 on Highway 172, near Mineral and Child’s Meadow. Mill Creek is near the south entrance of Lassen National Park. We have a mixed forest of evergreen pine, fir and cedar trees as well as deciduous birch, oak and dogwood trees. The Mill Creek Resort has a restaurant, cabins to rent, campgrounds and a store within walking distance of all the cabins.
Nature has provided steep canyons, a running creek, wildlife and untouched nature. The area has many hiking trails, old logging roads for wandering or biking on and miles of creek to explore. In winter, there is ample opportunity to cross country ski, snow shoe and go sledding. And Lassen National Park abounds with activity and nature all year long.
Our community has a volunteer board (Mill Creek Summer Homeowers Association -MCSHA) who give their time and talents to keep the common areas clean, the roads usable and to handle other issues that arise within the community. Currently, the Proposed Bylaws 2022 and the Covenant, Conditions and Restrictions Proposed CCR 2022 are undergoing a revision to accommodate new California legislation regarding homeowners associations. Any cabin owners who are or intend to rent their cabin must submit a rental notification.
Any changes, repairs or updates to a cabin need to adhere to the CC&Rs, be properly permitted and be approved by the ARC. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) can help answer any questions and get the process started.
Our spring fed water system is handled by a second volunteer board (Mill-Creek Lassen Water Company) who keep the water clean, clear and running freely. Blue flags on the street signs mean the water is good usable drinking quality.
Many of the cabins have been passed down within families for decades and some for generations, but newcomers will find just as much to enjoy.
Welcome!
